I laugh bitterly. You're the same as ever; praising yourself as if you can do anything, an arrogant glint in your eye. But you look different to me as now. I see a sad shadow of a man, dressed in outdated clothes, a worn and old look on your face.
But I'm not a nice enough person to pity you.
You used to tell me stories as if you were the greatest person on earth, and for a while I believed you. I would praise you when I talked to my friends, brag about how amazing you were and that you could do everything. In my small world, you were the sun.

Head resting lightly on a pillow of clouds.
Aching body soothed by silk.
Winter's air cools your heated skin,
Velvety feathers warm your cold toes.
Thick hair protects a fragile face.
Lying motionless,
Blood pumping relentlessly through your veins.
Still, but only for a moment.
Your foot twitches.
Moonlight caresses you,
Your skin,
Already kissed in a thousand places by the sun.
Everything is watching you.
Eyelids flickering,
Chest rising and falling,
Breath visible in the cold air.
I have never loved you more.
